Position Title: Busperson/Food Runner
Reports To: Restaurant Manager

Role: The Busperson/Food Runner plays a vital role in delivering an exceptional dining experience by supporting servers, expediting and delivering food orders promptly, and maintaining the highest standards of service and cleanliness. This position ensures that all tables are properly set and maintained throughout the shift, attends to guest needs such as water, coffee, tea, and soft drinks, and assists servers with station coverage and duties as needed—all in alignment with the luxury standards of the hotel. Adheres to all Company, Safety and Department policies and procedures. Fosters teamwork and provides excellent guest service, anticipates guest needs to exceed guest expectations. Builds brand loyalty by living the JW Marriott Core Values.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Experience: 1- year of hotel/restaurant Food Runner/Busperson experience
- Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced setting.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Required:
- Must be 18 years of age.
Required Work Cards needed:
- Valid Clark County Health Card
Key Responsibilities: Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:
- Expedite and deliver food orders accurately and promptly, ensuring all items meet presentation and quality standards.
- Maintain guest focus while performing duties and provide courteous assistance with beverage requests such as water, coffee, tea, and soft drinks.
- Support servers by covering stations, assisting with guest needs, and answering questions about the menu.
- Organize, clean, and maintain kitchen areas, beverage stations, side stations, and proper storage of all supplies that support daily duties.
- Assist in setting and resetting tables quickly and properly according to department standards; perform side duties as assigned.
- Restock dishes, silverware, linen, and other service items throughout the shift to ensure smooth operations.
- Carry trays, dishes, glassware, tablecloths, and napkins to the kitchen; break down and properly store soiled linen and dirty dishware in designated racks or bins.
- Deposit trash and scrap food into appropriate containers and maintain cleanliness of floor areas under tables.
- Follow directions carefully and ask questions for clarification when needed; complete all reasonable requests by management within capabilities.
- Perform side work, restock supplies, and replenish service areas as needed to maintain guest service standards.
- Ensure personal appearance meets luxury hotel standards—neat, clean, and well-groomed at all times.
- Check all food and beverage orders prior to serving guests to ensure accuracy and quality.

Work is performed in a (type of location, i.e., office, kitchen, restaurant, casino, etc.) environment and in other locations throughout the property. Must be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination and air quality. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases too loud. Additionally, smoking is permitted in casino areas consistent with Nevada state regulations, which are followed by the employer.

- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, upscale environment.
- Requires transporting, pushing, pulling, and maneuvering items weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Requires eye/hand coordination.
- May require use of standard office equipment. (Micros System)
- May require basic math with the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.
