About This Position
The Power Distribution line lead oversees the daily activities of personnel who assemble power distribution units. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Leads and directs the work of others. Performs a variety of tasks. This position reports to the Power Distribution Foreman.
Responsibilities:
- Assembles major structures and subassemblies.
- Entails mechanical tasks using necessary tools and equipment to complete the assembly project. Including but not limited to hand tools, power tools, torque drivers and inspection tools.
- Drive a forklift and operate overhead cranes. Training will be provided.
- Load/unload trucks.
- Assist with packaging finished goods as needed.
- Plan, assign and supervise the daily activities of production personnel working on assigned product line
- Manage weekly schedule for product line as assigned., requires verifying releases created by Engineering and verifying materials have arrived.
- Coordinate shipping schedule with coordinator.
- Recommend process improvements where needed.
- Attend project meetings as needed.
- Verify and maintain floor stock of materials, order through purchasing.
- Coordinate with engineering when problems arise on the floor, includes sending pictures and requesting drawing modifications.
- Review, perform or direct quality inspections
- Ensure shop equipment is maintained and working properly.
- Provide staffing and scheduling data to the Power Distribution Foreman and Coordinators as needed.
- Monitor and enforce quality standards.
- Maintain a safe, clean and productive work area.
- Ensure production and safety goals are met.
- Able to communicate with salespeople, engineers and customers in a professional manner on a regular basis.
- Provide technical direction as needed.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience assembly practices
- Supervisory experience
- Experience in an ISO environment is preferred.
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing Processes
- Experience scheduling and coordinating production workflow activities.
- Experience utilizing computers and MS Office software.
- Strong time management skills
- Forklift and crane experience desired
