About This Position

Job Summary:

The Production Labor position is responsible for efficiently and accurately performing assigned tasks within the production process. This role supports various aspects of the manufacturing line, including staging raw materials, assisting with line operations, and ensuring quality standards are met. Production Labor team members play a critical role in maintaining workflow, addressing production needs, and fostering a safe and sanitary environment.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Adherence to Standards and Compliance:

  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) to ensure compliance with food safety and quality regulations.
  • Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times and adhere to sanitation procedures.
  • Ensure all tasks are performed in alignment with company policies and safety protocols.

Task Execution and Production Support:

  • Efficiently perform assigned tasks, such as packing, sorting, or assisting with the setup and operation of production equipment.
  • Assist in staging raw materials for production to maintain workflow and prevent delays.
  • Rotate between stations as needed to support team needs and balance workload.

Quality Control:

  • Conduct visual inspections of products to confirm they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Promptly identify and report any defects or irregularities to the lead or supervisor.
  • Maintain awareness of product recipes, materials, and requirements to ensure accuracy.

Safety and Workplace Practices:

  • Follow all safety rules and OSHA requirements to create a secure work environment.
  • Report any unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, or hazards to the supervisor immediately.
  • Participate in safety training sessions and actively contribute to maintaining a safe workplace.

Communication and Coordination:

  • Effectively communicate any production concerns or supply needs to the lead or supervisor.
  • Collaborate with team members and departments to resolve production challenges and maintain efficiency.
  • Ensure that instructions are followed and that any changes are implemented promptly.

Teamwork and Flexibility:

  • Work collaboratively with other team members to meet production goals and maintain a cohesive workflow.
  • Be adaptable to changes in tasks or production schedules based on operational demands.
  • Support other departments or teams as required to ensure overall success of production operations.

Housekeeping and Sanitation:

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, tools, and equipment in compliance with hygiene standards.
  • Assist in cleaning and sanitizing production areas, equipment, and materials during and after production.
  • Properly dispose of waste and adhere to recycling protocols.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management to support production objectives.

Qualification Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior experience in food manufacturing, production, or similar roles is beneficial but not required.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and complete tasks efficiently and accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality standards.
  • Effective communication skills for working within a team and reporting concerns.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. as needed.
  • Comfort working in varying temperature conditions common in food manufacturing facilities.

Knowledge:

  • Understanding of GMPs and food safety protocols is preferred.

Physical Demands:

  • Compliance with safety requirements, including PPE such as safety footwear, hearing protection, and safety glasses.
  • Capability to work in variable temperatures and handle physical tasks like lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Standing or walking for extended periods and maneuvering around equipment.
