Responsibilities:

• Report directly to the Transportation Director and collaborate closely with internal teams including Fleet Management, Human Resources, Dispatch, and Transportation Facilities.
• Lead and supervise drivers within the transportation division, ensuring consistent performance, engagement, and compliance.
• Manage full ? cycle driver recruitment, including tracking open positions, interviewing, road testing, hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and mentoring across all locations.
• Partner with dispatch to develop and maintain effective driver schedules, communicating changes and expectations clearly.
• Address driver ? related issues such as scheduling concerns, grievances, documentation compliance, and performance challenges with a solution ? focused approach.
• Oversee driver performance with a strong emphasis on safety, productivity, efficiency, and service quality, including conducting evaluations and managing the disciplinary process in coordination with HR.
• Support safety initiatives by assisting with safety meetings, ensuring completion of required training, and maintaining ongoing communication regarding DOT compliance and SMS reports.
• Ensure strict adherence to DOT regulations, company safety policies, and administrative procedures by making safety ? focused operational decisions.
• Lead or assist investigations related to customer complaints, accidents, spills, and delivery errors, implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Foster a high ? performance, respectful work culture by modeling company values and maintaining open, timely, two ? way communication with drivers.
• Build strong professional relationships with drivers by maintaining a personable, supportive, and approachable leadership style.
• Learn and utilize transportation technology systems, including in ? cab camera systems and electronic logging platforms (Samsara).

Required Qualifications/Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of management or leadership experience.
• Background in delivery, trucking, or transportation operations preferred.
• College degree or relevant certification (Business, Operations, Transportation, or Leadership) preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to develop, implement, and monitor employee training programs.
• Highly organized with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Intermediate computer proficiency required.
• Proven ability to lead effectively in a fast ? paced, hands ? on environment.
• Sound judgment and decision ? making skills, with the ability to balance cost, customer expectations, and driver needs.
• Comfortable working under pressure and managing competing priorities.
• Class A CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements preferred.
• M-F 8a-5p with an expected workweek of 45-50 hours per week (Over time as needed)
