Overview:
The Georgia Dept. of Early Care & Learning (DECAL) seeks a Data Engineer to modernize its data infrastructure using Microsoft Fabric and Azure. The role focuses on building scalable ETL pipelines, supporting data migrations, and enabling advanced analytics and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and manage ETL/ELT pipelines (Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks)
- Implement medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold)
- Support legacy SQL/SSRS decommissioning
- Develop data models for Power BI dashboards
- Ensure data governance and security (Purview/Unity Catalog)
- Enable CI/CD via Azure DevOps
- Support data migration events
Technical Stack:
- Microsoft Fabric (Pipelines, Dataflows, Notebooks, OneLake)
- Azure Databricks, SQL Server, Power BI, SSRS
Requirements:
- 5+ years in data engineering
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, Spark
- Experience in Power BI, data modeling, and governance tools
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field
Preferred:
- Microsoft Fabric or Azure Data Engineer certification
- CI/CD automation with Azure DevOps
- Experience in government or regulated environments
- Knowledge of SSRS sunset/migration
