About This Position

Description:

JOB SUMMARY: The Camp Maintenance Technician is responsible for the safe operation, maintenance, and repair of camp facilities and utility systems in a remote environment. This role supports daily camp operations by troubleshooting and maintaining HVAC systems, plumbing infrastructure, power generation equipment, and general facility components to ensure reliable accommodations for camp personnel.

Essential Functions:

Key Responsibilities:

· Supports the Camp Manager and provides excellent customer service to guests staying at Sag River Living Facility.

· Provide friendly, professional service to clients.

· Perform routine and corrective maintenance on camp facilities, modular buildings, and support infrastructure

· Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems, including boilers, make-up air units, exhaust systems, and ventilation equipment

· Diagnose and resolve plumbing issues

· Assist with operation and basic maintenance of diesel generators, power distribution, and transfer switches

· Monitor and maintain water and wastewater storage systems, including tanks, pumps, and heat trace systems

· Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and complete required documentation

· Respond to facility service requests and prioritize repairs

· Maintain tools, shop areas, and spare parts inventory

· Assist with general carpentry, minor electrical, and facility upkeep as needed

· Follow all safety procedures including lockout/tagout and safe work practices

· Supports the corporate Safety Plan through personal involvement in all aspects of safety pertaining to daily operations.

· Accomplishing all assigned duties and responsibilities in accordance with corporate policies and procedures, and applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations.

· Coordinate special projects as directed by the Camp Manager.

· Ensure compliance of all work-related activities in a fair, ethical, and consistent manner.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

· Heavy equipment operation

· Extensive knowledge and skills to perform preventative and predictive maintenance and repairs on: commercial kitchen, electrical, plumbing, heating and ventilation and mechanical equipment.

· Must be able to interpret and understand blueprints, schematics, have good math and carpentry skills.

· Team player and excellent customer service skills.

· Ability to communicate clearly and effectively; both oral and written and follow instructions

QUALIFICATIONS:

· North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) Card preferred, not required

· HVAC training – preferred, not required

· Refrigeration training – preferred, not required

· Experience working in remote or rotational work environments

· Previous experience in remote man camp, oil & gas, mining, or construction camps

· Understanding of remote logistics and supply chain constraints

· Experience supporting 300+ person camp populations

· Must have a minimum of five (5) years industrial maintenance experience (training may be substituted for experience on a case by case basis), preferably in a man camp environment.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The majority of the work is performed in indoor and outdoor environments where the work can be quiet to loud.
