About This Position
We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef to lead dining services in our senior living community. This role is responsible for delivering high‑quality, nutritious, and appealing meals that enhance residents’ quality of life while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and food safety standards. The Executive Chef will lead kitchen operations, manage staff, control costs, and collaborate with clinical and leadership teams to support resident well‑being.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee all culinary and kitchen operations for the community
- Plan and prepare nutritious, high‑quality meals that meet resident preferences and dietary needs
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, including health department standards, state regulations, and food safety requirements
- Collaborate with nursing, clinical, and dietary teams to support therapeutic and special diets
- Maintain consistent food quality, taste, and presentation
- Manage food and labor costs, purchasing, inventory, and vendor relationships
- Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise kitchen staff; provide coaching and performance management
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment at all times
- Lead special events, holiday meals, and resident‑focused dining experiences
- Enforce standardized recipes, portion control, and production schedules
- Minimum of 2-5 years of culinary leadership experience; senior living or healthcare experience strongly preferred
- Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of therapeutic diets, modified textures, and nutritional standards
- Strong leadership, communication, and team‑building skills
- Experience with budgeting, cost control, and inventory management
- ServSafe Certification required (or ability to obtain within required timeframe)
- Ability to work flexible schedules as needed
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 40–50 lbs
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced kitchen environment
