This role sits at the heart of a global, cloud-native infrastructure platform that powers secure connectivity at scale for enterprise customers worldwide. You will design and operate highly distributed Kubernetes and VM-based environments across AWS and Google Cloud Platform, ensuring resilience, performance, and security by design. Working within a globally distributed engineering team, you will help shape the evolution of a multi-region platform built for reliability and automation. The environment is highly technical and fast-moving, requiring strong ownership, deep infrastructure expertise, and a passion for eliminating operational toil through automation. You will collaborate closely with engineering, security, and product teams to deliver scalable systems that support mission-critical workloads. This is a hands-on, high-impact role where your work directly influences platform stability and customer experience across production systems worldwide.
- Design, deploy, and maintain large-scale VM and Kubernetes infrastructure across AWS and GCP, supporting multi-region development, staging, and production environments.
- Build and evolve Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and orchestration tools, enabling secure, repeatable, and scalable provisioning of cloud resources.
- Develop and maintain observability systems using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry, ensuring full visibility into platform health and performance.
- Automate operational workflows, reduce system toil, and improve reliability through scripting, tooling, and CI/CD pipeline enhancements.
- Manage Kubernetes clusters including networking, RBAC, workload orchestration, and troubleshooting in production-grade environments.
- Collaborate across engineering, security, compliance, and product teams to design resilient architectures and support capacity planning and disaster recovery strategies.
- Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation, responding to incidents and contributing to post-incident reviews and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience, with 8+ years in platform or infrastructure engineering roles.
- Strong expertise in Kubernetes administration, cloud infrastructure (AWS and GCP), and container-based architectures.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform and infrastructure automation frameworks in production environments.
- Proficiency in scripting/programming languages such as Python, Bash, and Go.
- Deep understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, HTTP/S, TLS, DNS, and enterprise connectivity patterns.
- Experience with observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry) and production monitoring strategies.
- Familiarity with GitOps workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps practices.
- Strong problem-solving mindset, collaboration skills, and comfort working in globally distributed teams and on-call rotations.
- Competitive base salary aligned with experience (approximately CAD 141,000–249,000 range, plus variable compensation eligibility).
- Equity opportunities through stock-based compensation programs.
- Comprehensive health coverage and benefits package (medical, dental, vision, and more depending on eligibility).
- Flexible remote-first work model across Canada.
- Global, collaborative engineering culture with strong focus on learning and innovation.
- Career development opportunities in a rapidly scaling, high-impact infrastructure environment.
- Inclusive workplace culture built on collaboration, autonomy, and continuous improvement.
