This senior leadership role sits at the core of driving high-value federal growth initiatives within the defense and government technology sector. You will be responsible for shaping, leading, and executing complex capture strategies for large-scale opportunities supporting the U.S. Army and Defense Agencies. Operating at the intersection of business development, solution strategy, and competitive positioning, you will play a pivotal role in securing transformative contracts that exceed hundreds of millions of dollars. The role demands a strong mix of strategic vision, hands-on capture leadership, and deep understanding of federal acquisition environments. You will collaborate closely with executive leadership, technical teams, and delivery organizations to define winning strategies and ensure competitive differentiation. This is a remote position in the United States with travel as required, offering high visibility and direct impact on national security-related programs.
- Lead end-to-end capture strategy development and execution for large-scale U.S. Army and Defense Agencies opportunities, including deals exceeding $500M
- Drive the enterprise capture process, ensuring disciplined execution, governance, and alignment with internal business development frameworks
- Develop differentiated win strategies including customer engagement, solution design, teaming, pricing, and competitive positioning
- Conduct market and opportunity shaping to increase win probability across the pursuit lifecycle
- Establish and validate pricing strategies aligned with Price-to-Win objectives and profitable execution models
- Collaborate with P&L leaders, business development teams, and solution architects to define compelling value propositions
- Provide strategic recommendations including bid/no-bid decisions to senior leadership
- Track and report capture progress, risks, and performance metrics throughout pursuit phases
- Support the development of account plans and long-term growth strategies aligned with defense market priorities
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field
- 10+ years of experience in capture management or business development within the federal government or defense contracting sector
- Proven track record leading large, complex DoD capture efforts, ideally within Tier 1 federal systems integrators
- Demonstrated success in winning competitive contracts valued at $500M+
- Strong expertise in federal acquisition processes, pricing strategies, and competitive analysis
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams in high-pressure, deadline-driven environments
- Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Active Secret clearance required with ability to obtain Top Secret clearance
- U.S. citizenship required
- Competitive base salary range: $215,467 – $276,000 USD annually
