As a Sales Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in bridging technical expertise and business strategy for enterprise prospects. You’ll work closely with sales teams to understand customer needs, design tailored solutions, and demonstrate how technology can solve complex challenges. This role requires a deep understanding of enterprise software, databases, and cloud environments, combined with strong communication skills to engage stakeholders at all levels. You will guide the technical aspects of the sales cycle, run proof-of-value engagements, and ensure that proposed solutions deliver measurable outcomes. The position offers a collaborative, fast-paced environment where problem-solving, creativity, and technical know-how directly impact business growth and customer success.
- Partner with Regional Sales Managers to develop account plans that integrate business and technical strategies
- Take ownership of all technical aspects during pre-sales engagements with prospective customers
- Design, present, and deliver solution-oriented demos and presentations tailored to customer requirements
- Resolve technical issues and develop strategies that demonstrate measurable value for enterprise clients
- Understand prospects’ business processes, technical challenges, and competitive pressures to architect innovative solutions
- Support the execution of solution evaluations and proof-of-value engagements, ensuring objectives are met
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to provide customer feedback and influence roadmap priorities
Requirements:
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, MIS, or related field
- 5+ years of successful pre-sales experience in enterprise software sales, including proof-of-value engagements
- Strong knowledge of DevOps, Agile processes, and cloud technologies
- Experience with multiple database platforms (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
- Proficiency with scripting languages (shell, Ruby, Groovy) and source code management tools (Git, Subversion, TFS)
- Experience with deployment and build automation tools such as Jenkins, GitLab runners, Azure DevOps Release Pipelines
- Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills
- Ability to travel up to 35%, US-based (East Coast preferred)
