Job Purpose

The Armada Insurance team understands the importance of comprehensive insurance reviews and 100% compliance with lender and investor requirements. We provide the rapid turnaround required in today’s fast-paced real estate market. The Insurance Analyst II position is responsible for acting in the most timely, efficient, and accurate manner to protect the interest of lenders/investors related to completing pre-closing compliance insurance reviews for commercial real estate lenders. The person in this position will work closely with insurance agents and brokers to ensure the insurance policies comply with the insurance requirements of the commercial lenders and investors. This position will work independently with support from a Senior Insurance Analyst and/or AVP to address deal-related questions pertaining to pre-closing and compliance insurance reviews for commercial real estate lenders.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Accurately conduct reviews of ACORD insurance forms for acceptability of investor/lender insurance requirements pertaining to commercial real estate loan origination.
  • Contact insurance agents by phone and/or email to adjust coverage to acceptable levels and/or submit insurance waiver requests to commercial lenders and investors.
  • Develop and write a thorough insurance review report for clients utilizing Armada’s report-development software.
  • Interact with internal departments as needed to resolve any issues or discrepancies related to insurance.
  • Ensure that loan reviews are completed timely and accurately to meet lender target rate lock and closing dates.
  • Perform peer-to-peer quality control reviews.
  • The Analyst II will assist with training new hires.
  • Drive consistent revenue growth by meeting or surpassing assigned production benchmarks
  • Oversee and manage the monitoring of insurance renewals for an assigned portfolio of loans.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High-school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of commercial property & casualty insurance experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in commercial real estate insurance reviews for lenders.
  • Loan document review and interpretation experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as a high degree of analytical ability.
  • Ability to work in high volume/deadline driven environment, with strong ability to prioritize workload.
  • Be able to identify exceptions to policy and complete waiver requests when required.
  • Experience in analyzing blanket insurance policies for commercial real estate properties.
  • Willingness to learn and apply on-the-job education to work assignments.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Be able to communicate clearly and effectively in e-mail, phone, and virtual settings.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Adobe, and Outlook.
  • Strong problem solving and time management skills.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Team player and reliable individual.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BA or BS in insurance, finance, or related field.
  • Insurance related certification or designation.
  • Commercial loan servicing experience.
  • Commercial insurance agency or insurance carrier work experience.
  • Be able to manage multiple assignments at any given time.
  • Experience in Salesforce or other similar workflow management tools.
  • Experience in commercial real estate insurance reviews for Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, or balance sheet multifamily lenders.
  • Experience in a customer-service based atmosphere.

Physical requirements

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position (e.g., sitting or standing) for extended periods.

  • Occasional lifting or moving of items up to 10–20 pounds (e.g., office supplies).
  • Visual ability to read documents, screens, and reports.
  • Ability to navigate office environment, including walking short distances.
