We currently seek a part-time Video Visiting Assistant to join our Children, Youth and Family Services Department. The Video Visiting Assistant will facilitate remote visits and ensure a seamless virtual visiting experience for incarcerated individuals and their loved ones. They will be responsible for setting up, managing, and troubleshooting video conferencing sessions, as well as provide technical support and assistance as needed. This role requires a flexible schedule, including afternoon and evening shifts Monday through Friday, as well as weekends as needed. The position also requires up to 25 hours per week of on-site work at our Osborne offices.
This position requires clearance by the New York State Department of Correction and Community Supervision (DOCCS). Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain Department of Correction and Community Supervision (DOCCS) clearance to work in facilities operated by the Department of Correction and Community Supervision (DOCCS).
Salary: $22.80 - $24.07 per hour
Requirements:Essential Duties:
- Facilitate video visits at Osborne community sites in Brooklyn, the Bronx, and Harlem
- Greet all video visiting family members, check for proper identification as needed, and ensure that all documentation is completed
- Engage in meaningful dialogue with families pre and post-visit in order to build positive relationships and identify any needs or issues
- Conduct outreach to recruit new families
- Ensure all families are connected to video conferencing equipment at appropriate scheduled intervals
- Maintain the video visiting rooms, toys, and equipment
- Sanitize all toys and video visiting spaces to prepare for future visits
- Participate in weekly supervision with Video Visiting Coordinator
- Update Video Visiting Coordinator of any family or facility needs or issues that may arise during video visits
- Oversee enrollment of new video visiting families by completing program orientations and intakes
- Connect video visiting families to internal and external referrals as needed
- Connect video visiting families to Osborne events and opportunities
- Input and maintain video visiting data (visit records, case records, referral information, progress notes, etc)
- Collect and maintain video visiting survey data
- Conduct outreach to recruit new families
- Respond to program inquiries and submit community referrals to the appropriate facilities
- Participate in all relevant video visiting and CYFS meetings and training as deemed necessary
- Work as a member of the video visiting team to ensure the smooth operation of daily video visits
- Attend assigned training
- In-person attendance is required to collaborate with co-workers
- This position requires clearance by the New York City Department of Correction. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain DOC clearance.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- One year of professional work and/or internship experience in a social service organization
- Experience working with children and families

- Proficient in Google Suite and Microsoft Suite

- Ability to obtain and maintain clearance by the New York City Department of Correction
