About this Location:

This position is located at the Embassy Suites by Hilton in San Luis Obispo, CA. Nestled in the heart of California’s Central Coast, our all-suite hotel offers convenient access to downtown SLO, local wineries, and scenic hiking trails. Surrounded by rolling hills and just minutes from the beach, our property provides the perfect home base for guests to relax, explore, and experience the charm of the Central Coast.


Why do we need you?

Supervise the daily operations of the Front Desk staff to maximize revenues and profits while attaining optimal guest satisfaction.


What you will do:

  1. Assigns duties and shifts to workers and observes performances to ensure adherence to hotel policies and established operating procedures.
  2. Confers and cooperates with other managerial staff to ensure coordination of hotel activities.
  3. Demonstrate positive leadership characteristics, which inspire employees to meet and exceed standards.
  4. Supports and adheres to the core values, the mission statement, service fundamentals, and guest service philosophy as defined by the company.
  5. Answers inquiries pertaining to hotel policies and services.
  6. Ensure smooth check-in/check-out experiences, guest interactions, and guest satisfaction.
  7. Arranges for private telephone line and other special services.
  8. May patrol public rooms, investigate disturbances, and warn troublemakers.
  9. Participate in the recruitment process for front office staff.
  10. May receive and process advance registration payments.
  11. May send out letters of confirmation or return checks when registration cannot be accepted.
  12. Respond to guest’s special requests, needs, problems, issues, and concerns and accommodate groups to ensure optimal levels of guest satisfaction and repeat business.
  13. Achieves budgeted revenues and expenses and maximizes profitability related to the guest services department.
  14. Develops short-term and long-term financial and operational plans for the guest service department, which relate to the overall objectives of the hotel.
  15. Increases level of guest satisfaction by delivering an improved product through employee development, job engineering, and quality image.
  16. Manages in compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
  17. Manages the reservation function to maintain highest possible room occupancy and average daily rate through suggestive selling by employees.
  18. Maintains procedures for credit control and handling of financial transactions.
  19. Maintains procedures for security of monies, guest security and emergency procedures.
  20. All other duties as assigned by a manager or supervisor.

  • Analyze and interpret policies established by administrators.
  • Understand the government regulations covering business operations.
  • Deal with the public, customers, employees, union and government officials with tact and courtesy.
  • Plan and organize the work of others.

  • Speak and write clearly.

Schedule & Hours:

This position is full-time. The role follows a rotating schedule (Monday-Sunday). Ability to work any scheduled day of the week and time of day, including holidays, based on business needs is required.
