About This Position
POSITION SUMMARY
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute workforce strategies to support project needs, including forecasting craft demand, ramp-ups/ramp-downs, crew composition, and resource allocation
- Partner with Preconstruction and Estimating to validate workforce capacity and support project pursuit efforts, including subsistence budgeting
- Collaborate with Labor Managers across business units and regions to align workforce strategies, drive consistency, and share best practices
- Oversee the end-to-end management of the Craft Traveler Program, including selection, placement, onboarding, tracking, and retention
- Facilitate and manage all logistics and coordination required to successfully transition travelers between assignments
- Continuously evaluate and improve program performance, processes, and documentation
- Lead the management of the Renewables Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP), including apprentice selection, onboarding, OJL/RI tracking, evaluations, and program completion
- Ensure IRA project compliance by tracking and meeting required apprenticeship ratios and hours through proactive workforce coordination
- Partner with the RE Compliance Team to ensure alignment with RAP and IRA requirements and serve as a subject matter expert on apprenticeship compliance
- Support with third-party auditing of McCarthys RAP as needed
- Partner with IT to continue to build an Apprenticeship Management Dashboard
- Partner with HR, L&OD, and Field Leadership to develop and implement craft training and development strategies
- Support the Sr. Superintendent group and HR in establishing and managing Foreman and General Foreman talent review programs
- Collaborate with HR to develop and manage craft performance evaluation processes
- Oversee and continuously improve workflows, tools, and documentation for craft and apprenticeship programs
- Manage and ensure accuracy of workforce data systems (e.g., Bridgit) for open shop RE projects
- Lead and facilitate recurring meetings related to craft workforce management and apprenticeship programs across mechanical and electrical scopes
- Support management of state licensing requirements for the self-perform electrical group
- Partner with Human Resources to plan and execute Reduction in Force (RIF) strategies for the craft workforce
- Collaborate with HR and Compensation teams on annual wage and subsistence reviews
- Serve as a key liaison between field operations, HR, and leadership to ensure alignment on workforce initiatives
- Directly manage and develop an RE Craft Analyst
- Serve as a key point of contact for Craft Onsite Teams through a dotted-line reporting structure
- Influence cross-functional teams to drive alignment, accountability, and execution
- Become a subject matter expert (SME) in all craft management and apprenticeship items across RE and within the Company
- Train your replacement
QUALIFICATIONS
- 13 years of experience in solar or renewable construction, with exposure to craft workforce operations and apprenticeship program management, preferred
- Working knowledge of self-perform work within renewable energy construction projects, preferred.
- Proven experience collaborating with Project Management teams to support successful project delivery
- Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate across multiple teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel, as well as Smartsheet, Monday.com, and other web-based workforce or project management tools
- Working knowledge of apprenticeship regulations and U.S. Department of Labor best practices nationwide
- Ability to analyze and clearly present complex problems, data, and solutions to diverse audiences

For California locations only, the salary range for this position is: $109,900 - $137,300. This does not include possible bonus and other benefits which can impact total compensation. Compensation offered may vary based on work location, experience, qualifications, specialty, training, and market and business considerations, among other factors.
