The Executive Director, Consumer Access, will lead and optimize patient access operations across multiple facilities, ensuring regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and an exceptional consumer experience. This role is responsible for driving strategies that improve revenue cycle performance, reduce accounts receivable, and enhance patient satisfaction. The position requires collaboration with finance, operations, and clinical leadership to align departmental goals with organizational priorities. The ideal candidate is a seasoned leader with strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, capable of developing talent and fostering a high-performing, service-oriented team. This role operates in a fast-paced, matrix-management environment, offering the opportunity to influence strategic initiatives and lead transformational change.
- Oversee and continuously improve patient access processes to meet financial, operational, and consumer experience goals
- Collaborate with finance leaders and revenue cycle executives to develop budgets and drive fiscal performance
- Lead initiatives to optimize cash projections, reduce accounts receivable days, and minimize denials
- Provide guidance and coaching to market and campus-specific leaders and staff to enhance performance and compliance
- Serve as a liaison for corporate initiatives, ensuring alignment with system-wide strategic priorities
- Foster staff development and talent management to strengthen team capabilities and succession planning
- Participate in annual strategic planning, implementing market-specific initiatives that support organizational objectives
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Health Services Administration, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- 4+ years of leadership experience and 4+ years in revenue cycle management; 2+ years in patient access preferred
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to lead in a matrix-management environment
- Effective oral and written communication skills, able to convey complex information clearly to all levels of staff
- Experience overseeing departmental budgets and resource planning
- Demonstrated ability to inspire high performance, foster collaboration, and coach staff effectively
- Knowledge of patient accounting systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Preferred certifications: Certified Healthcare Access Manager (CHAM), Change Management Certification (PROSCI), Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR)
