About This Position

Location: Wilmington, DE

Position Overview

As a Maintenance Technician, you’ll be responsible for the upkeep, repair, and overall maintenance of residential units and common areas in a multi-unit housing facility. This role combines hands-on technical work with property upkeep and customer service, ensuring the property remains safe, clean, and well-maintained for residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance tasks in apartments and common areas
  • Turnover unit prep including:
    • Drywall repair
    • Painting and caulking
    • Carpet cleaning and minor repairs
  • General groundskeeping:
    • Trash removal
    • Light landscaping (watering, weeding)
    • Inclement weather response (e.g., snow/ice removal)
  • Maintain cleanliness of maintenance shop and storage areas
  • Occasionally clean apartments and shared spaces
  • Respond to maintenance requests and emergency calls as needed
  • Use your own set of hand tools on the job
  • Follow directives from Maintenance Superintendent and Property Manager

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 1 year in general maintenance (e.g., electrical, carpentry, plumbing)
  • Skills:
    • Hands-on repair and troubleshooting skills across multiple trades
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Strong time management and organizational skills
    • Excellent customer service when interacting with residents
  • Tools: Must supply your own hand tools
