About This Position

Description:

CCB Packaging, a locally owned leader in the packaging industry, is looking for an experienced Production Supervisor on 3rd shift to join our team! This position is responsible for all areas of manufacturing operations and leading the Production team to ensure goals and customer expectations are met. The Production Supervisor coordinates the activities of CCB Packaging employees and contract staff and is responsible for the training and further development of employees.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supervise production employees on 3rd shift to ensure production guidelines are being met within established timing, quality, and cost standards.
  • Train, direct, coach and lead the production team in all areas of manufacturing operations to meet production, safety and quality requirements.
  • Drive the communication of production goals and objectives, as well as results, in order to effectively motivate the team to maintain a high standard of product quality while maximizing plant efficiencies.
  • Perform daily walks and visual inspections of the production floor in observation of unsafe acts or conditions and take immediate corrective action where necessary.
  • Suggest, establish and initiate changes in work flow processes and use of equipment to increase efficiency of the department and/or production crew to maintain the lowest level of downtime and product costs possible.
  • Adhere to product specification requirements from customers to maintain the desired product quality results.
  • Knowledge of machine setup and ability to control the operation of machines and equipment and address issues with the automated lines; observe gauges, dials or indicators to assure the machine is working properly.
  • Promote safety and GMP practices in the plant and hold team accountable to them.
  • Maintain adequate knowledge of products and equipment to ensure the ability to direct employees to perform the job properly.
  • Meet or exceed production KPI goals on OEE, training, labor, quality and production savings.
  • Work cross-functionally with other departments to address typical problem areas.
  • Verify changeovers in the plant to ensure accuracy is achieved.
  • Conduct team huddles as necessary with the team and cross-functionally to address current issues on the lines as needed.
  • Communicate effectively through email, OEE Software System (RedZone) and face-to-interactions.
  • Check and monitor Team Lead paperwork on a daily basis.
  • Confirm that the labor sheets are accurate on a daily basis and address labor issues that arise.

Qualifications include:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year school preferred.
  • 1-3 years of supervisory / leadership experience required.
  • 2+ years of related experience and/or training in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Previous food processing experience, manufacturing knowledge, plant efficiencies, and operations procedures preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and persuasively with team members, management, and support departments.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective leadership skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to lead problem solving and troubleshooting efforts associated with high-level process issues.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills in order to run and monitor the entire production process.
  • Ability to motivate, train and coach employees to encourage optimum performance and engagement.
  • Respectful, approachable and team-oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
