Housekeeper Job Description

Title: Housekeeper

Immediate Supervisor: Administrator

Summary of Job Responsibilities: Cleans assigned areas. Ensure resident apartments, vacant apartments and common areas are maintained and clean.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Clean common areas as scheduled
• Clean apartments as scheduled and assigned and as needed.
• Clean residents’ windows and common area windows.
• Report concerns observations about residents to supervisor.
• Ensure a safe living environment for residents.
• Deep clean empty apartments to prepare for new move-ins.
• Carry out other duties assigned.

• Carry out all policies and procedures of Kingswood Court.
• Report any on-the-job injuries to your supervisor before the end of the work shift on the day the injury occurs.
• Practice safety in working with and around equipment, to include using the proper PPE when chemicals or cleaning “bio waste”.
• Build constructive working relationships with employees, residents, families and visitors.
• Uphold all privacy and confidentiality to respective individuals.

Knowledge Expectations

• OSHA regulations.
• SDS sheets and procedures.
• Fire and safety procedures.
• Infection control policies and procedures.
• Function and operation of laundry equipment and housekeeping equipment.
• Proper care and maintenance of laundry and housekeeping equipment.

Working Environment:

• Heated/Air-conditioned, well-lit community with minimal barriers.
• Weekend work when scheduled.
• Lifting, pushing or pulling up to 30 lbs., using proper body mechanics or available equipment.
• Bending or kneeling to perform cleaning tasks in the community.
• Lifting arms above head to reach and clean shelves, ledges and windows.
• Use of chemicals in cleaning.
• This position would be 10-15 hours/week and flexible but consistent scheduling.
