We are seeking a highly motivated Electrical Engineering Intern to support engineering activities within a DoD-cleared environment. This position is ideal for an upper-level undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) who is interested in gaining hands-on experience in a professional engineering setting.
The intern will work alongside experienced engineers on real-world projects involving circuit design, analysis, testing, and system integration. Must be local to the Tampa, FL area and available to work on-site for Summer 2026.
Requirements:Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design, analysis, and testing of electrical and electronic systems
- Support development and troubleshooting of analog and digital circuits
- Participate in laboratory testing, data collection, and documentation of results
- Contribute to schematic capture, PCB layout reviews, and basic simulation tasks
- Assist with embedded systems and microprocessor-based designs
- Write and maintain technical documentation, test procedures, and reports
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams as needed
Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: (preferred)
- Experience with circuit simulation tools (e.g., SPICE, AWR, HFSS, or similar)
- Familiarity with PCB design tools (e.g., Altium, Cadence Allegro)
- Hands-on lab experience with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators
- Exposure to RF, communications, or high-speed digital design
- Prior internship, co-op, or relevant project experience
Education:
- Currently pursuing a BSEE from an ABET-accredited university
- Upper-level undergraduate (junior or senior) and formally admitted into the EE program
- Completed or currently enrolled in coursework covering: Electric Circuits, Electronics, Microprocessors / Embedded Systems, Programming (e.g., C, C++, Python, or similar) or Electromagnetics
- GPA = 3.0 in Electrical Engineering coursework
