Group Home Registered Nurse (RN) Psy Residential Service Per Diem Evening at RWJBarnabas Health – Jersey City, New Jersey

Qualifications:

Required:

• BSN
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Proficient Computer Skills
• Valid NJ Driver's License

Preferred:

• 1 year of experience as a Behavioral Health RN

Certifications and Licenses Required:

• Active NJ RN license or compact RN license with NJ endorsement
• BLS from the American Heart Association

Scheduling Requirements:

• Evening Shift, 6 hours a week
• Per Diem
• Scheduled as needed with a minimum requirement of 2 shifts a month
• Will need to work 1 winter and 1 summer holiday

Essential Functions:

• The Department of Psychiatry Residential Services is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of: Program Nurse.
• Program Nurse will work with adult consumers residing in a 15 bed community based group home who suffer from Severe and Persistent Mental Illness.
• Program Nurse is responsible for providing on-going evaluation, assessment, implementation and re-evaluation of individualized nursing plans and mental health treatment plans.
• Program Nurse will provide training and education to consumers regarding medical and mental health needs through individual and group activities
• Candidates shall be innovative and creative and willing to expand 'outside the box' to develop successful therapeutic interventions for the consumers.
• Due to the resistant nature of the consumers, candidates will need to be patient and possess strong motivational skills
• Candidates should have a strong work ethic, be a self-motivator, and willing to be introspective in developing their skill set
• Our department is a work environment focused on growth for both the consumers and staff

$50.00 Min to $68.00 Max Hourly Rate
