MRI Technologist Lead at RWJBarnabas Health – Livingston, New Jersey

JOB SUMMARY:

Under guidance of MRI Supervisor/Imaging Manager, MRI Lead Technologist oversees the daily guidance of the staff MRI technologists. The lead ensures the smooth function of the department MR systems, and the triaging of cases to appropriate systems based on modality need, patient diagnosis, or radiologist request. The MR lead technologist also maintains monthly PIC/NPSG data collections, ensuring the highest quality team performance. In addition, the MR lead tech provides training technical direction to technologists in the procedures and techniques related to the protocols inherent to the MRI modality workflows. He/she is qualified to troubleshoot both IT/PACS issues as well as equipment failures/difficulties that occur within the scope of profession. Lastly, the MRI lead technologist ensures completion of continuing education related to MRI imaging, setting the example for the MRI departmental staff.

EDUCATION:

• MRI Certification through American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

REQUIREMENTS:

• NJ DEP State Radiologic Technology License.
• Management of daily Magnetic Resonance Imaging procedures, knowledge of the biological effects of the three magnetic fields used in MRI: Static magnetic field, Radio-frequency field, and Time Varying Gradient field.
