About This Position
The Director of Operational Support Services provides leadership, direction and management for various organizational areas including, but not limited to Switchboard, Concierge, Environmental Services, Food & Nutrition Services and Transport. Supports the goals of the Medical Center and emphasizes the delivery of quality, safe, and cost-effective patient care within an environment fostering clinical excellence and customer service. The Director will develop and promote collaborative relationships at all levels of the organization knowing that these support services are vital to support patient care. This position ensures staff compliance with all regulatory requirements including but not limited to: Joint Commission, State, Federal, and Local laws, Organizational standards, and protocols.
Qualifications/ Experience:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration or another related field, or equivalent directly-related experience required. Master’s degree preferred.
Certification / License:
- Basic CPR certification required
Experience:
- 5-7 years of healthcare experience; Demonstrated skills to work in and foster a team environment
- Ability to develop and foster relationships with both internal and external clients, medical staff and other clinicians
- Ability to formulate and execute strategic plans for the business
- Superior communication skills; skilled listener and encourages direct, open, and honest conversation keeping all staff apprised of organization information; Excellent coaching, conflict resolution and communication skills
- Creative problem solver with the willingness to take initiatives in leading change as well as the ability to effectively manage change
- Must have background or knowledge with applicable regulations/guidelines and/or regulatory agencies to include but not limited to: OSHA, FMLA, ADA, Workers’ Compensation, CDC and Joint Commission
- 5+ years of direct management experience including dealing with complex issues or equivalent
- Excellent writing skills and demonstration of good project and people management skills are required
