JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective

We are seeking a dynamic Sales Specialist to drive execution, visibility, and growth for Climbing Kites at the retail level. The Sales Specialist is the frontline representative of the brand, responsible for visiting accounts daily; ensuring distribution, visibility, and execution excellence; and building strong relationships with distributor sales teams and retail partners. This role exists to ensure our products are not only available but also seen, understood, and loved by wholesalers, retailers, and consumers.

The ideal candidate is a highly-motivated self starter that has strong follow-through skills. The ideal candidate also has a strong understanding of beverage sales, experience working with beverage and alcohol wholesalers and retailers, and is able to execute event marketing, trade programming, and local brand building.

Key ResponsibilitiesRetail Execution and Merchandising
  • Visit 40+ accounts weekly across on- and off-premise channels to ensure distribution, visibility, and compliance

  • Sell in products to new accounts and secure incremental placements in existing accounts

  • Execute retail events, including samplings, special events, promotional events, and partner events in coordination with the Regional Business Manager and the Marketing team

  • Manage the placement POS materials, ensuring timely delivery, effective use and execution, and brand compliance at priority retailers

Relationships with Retailers and Wholesalers
  • Build strong relationships with street-level distributor reps through work-withs, communication, and follow-up

  • Build strong relationships with key retailers through repeated visits, communication, and follow-through

Data Management & Reporting
  • Provide timely and accurate market recaps and reporting to internal teams and distributor partners

  • Deliver weekly sales recap to Sales team

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with sales, marketing, and operations teams to ensure seamless execution of field and trade initiatives

  • Provide market feedback to Regional Business Manager to inform product development, pricing, and positioning strategies

Ideal Candidate Profile

  1. 1-5 years of sales or experience (alcohol, beverage, CPG, or service industry experience preferred)

  2. Highly motivated self starter with strong follow-through skills and high work ethic comfortable working independently

  3. High attention to detail and high accuracy

  4. Strong communicator and relationship builder with retail and distributor personnel

  5. Understands the principles of working with wholesale partners and selling into retail stores

  6. Results driven/high achieving

  7. Accountable

  8. Timely

  9. Passionate about beverages, people, and representing a mission-driven brand

Physical Demands

This position requires in-field work and/or at events and activations.. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Additionally extended periods of standing or sitting as it relates to events and travel may be needed.

Other Requirements

The candidate must have a reliable car and a valid driver’s license. The position includes a stipend to cover the cost of transportation.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position estimating 40+ hours of work/ days and may vary from week-to-week. Due to the nature of the business, events and nights/weekends will be needed.

Travel

The position requires travel throughout the market on a regular basis. Occasional travel beyond the market may be required to support the Company nationwide.
