About This Position
POSITION PURPOSE:
Management of White Energy maintenance personnel to maintain facilities within efficient and safe parameters. Research and develop ways to improve plant process and efficiency.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:
- Walk through of facilities using vision and hearing to ensure plant equipment is functioning correctly.
- Communicate with maintenance personnel and Plant Manager to ensure minimum downtime and maximum production.
- Review historic production data provided by production and maintenance personnel.
- Project development including conceptual planning, equipment selection, research and development, and flow diagrams, with the input from production and maintenance personnel, Plant Manager, and third-party vendor consultation.
- Project management to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
- Schedule and oversee vendors, contractors, and laborers as needed.
- Train and mentor maintenance staff.
- Maintain good relationship with local management to aid in partnerships and plant operations running smoothly.
- Write proposals for new project ideas and present to Plant Manager and VP of Operations.
- Review and approve maintenance accounts payable.
- Responsible for managing and maintaining spare parts inventories.
- Oversee preventative maintenance scheduling to prevent and predict equipment failures.
- Arrange for technical training within the facility for all maintenance employees for continuing education and training.
- Arrange for all maintenance personnel to attend at least two training courses and/or conferences outside of the facility.
- Attend seminars in maintenance or process fields in order to network to obtain current knowledge and skills.
- Communicate with other plant Maintenance Managers at other facilities to obtain updated knowledge and information.
- Assist maintenance personnel in planning and scheduling plant shutdowns including hiring vendors and contractors for assistance.
- Personnel management including yearly performance reviews, hiring decisions and team building.
- Inform personnel as to infractions of company policy with verbal or written warnings to keep personnel safe and in compliance with company policies.
- Develop and monitor maintenance budget so operations are within limits set forth by Plant Manager and VP of Operations.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree, High School Diploma/GED or equivalent educational experience
- Ten (10) years in a supervisory or management role leading a maintenance department preferred
- Eight (8) years of experience in a maintenance environment, or the equivalence in experience and responsibility

- The ability to read engineering drawings and technical documents
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- High School or equivalent GED

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION
- Exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects

- Quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine to exact positions
- Quickly move hand, or two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects
- Work with all members of White Energy in a professional and courteous manner
- The employee may be required to lift up to 50 lbs. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is required to sit, stand, walk, climb and bend. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Specific hearing abilities are required.
Required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
Hardhat and protective eyewear required within and around processing facilities. Hearing protection required in areas where levels exceed 85 db. Uniform provided by White Energy. Steel toe leather boots. Additional PPE is required when handling hazardous chemicals and in certain areas of the facilities.
Must be able to speak and listen clearly. Fine visual acuity to read for accuracy. Travel required or as needed. For more detail please review the ADA questionnaire on file in Human Resources.
