The Opportunity
TSPi is seeking an entry-level Data Analytic professional to support our CMS portfolio, with a focus on federal healthcare and public sector data. This role is ideal for an early-career candidate with a foundation in data analytics, healthcare, social science, public health, or a related field who is eager to grow their skills in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.
The selected candidate will contribute to data analysis, data cleaning, and development of analytical code while working as part of small, cross-functional teams. Projects will include data-intensive federal government initiatives focused on healthcare. This role will support the creation of high-quality data products and insights that inform key decisions, while building proficiency in data management, statistical analysis, and visualization.
Job Summary
Analyzes and interprets data to support organizational and client needs. Assists in creating reports, developing data collection and processing workflows, and transforming data into meaningful insights. Contributes to routine technical tasks under close supervision and supports data-driven decision-making across projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply foundational knowledge of data analytics and data management techniques to support analysis of structured and unstructured datasets
- Assist in the full data lifecycle, including data intake, cleaning, validation, transformation, and basic analysis
- Develop and maintain code for data processing and analysis using tools such as Python, R, SQL, or similar technologies
- Support the creation of reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to communicate insights clearly and effectively
- Collaborate with team members to follow established QA/QC protocols and data governance standards
- Participate in cross-functional teams to support data preparation, analytical file creation, and reporting efforts
- Assist in maintaining data integrity, security, and availability in compliance with federal and organizational standards
- Contribute to documentation of processes, methodologies, and code
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, statistics, informatics, public health, social science, or a related field
- 0+ years of relevant experience (internships, academic projects, or research experience applicable)
- Basic proficiency in one or more data analysis tools or programming languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL, or similar)
- Understanding of fundamental statistical concepts and data analysis techniques
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work on routine tasks with guidance
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with healthcare, CMS, or other federal/public sector data
- Familiarity with healthcare data, public health data, or social science datasets
- Familiarity with data management best practices and data lifecycle concepts
Additional Requirements
- U.S. work authorization is required
- Ability to obtain and maintain CMS clearance, including passing a background check
- Active credentials for CMS systems or experience obtaining federal system access is strongly preferred
- Prior experience with CMS or other federal agencies is strongly preferred
