Job Description
OBJECTIVE
The Concierge acts as a critical liaison between our customers, sales team, and yard staff. This front-line position ensures that orders are fulfilled accurately and efficiently, while delivering exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will enjoy interacting with people, have strong organizational skills, and be enthusiastic about supporting both customers and internal teams.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Answer and route radio calls and follow up as needed.
- Escalate urgent issues per established procedures.
- Perform light administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, copying, and inventory of supplies.
- Provide coverage for other shifts as needed and complete other duties assigned.
- Warmly greet and assist all customers with professionalism and hospitality.
- Coordinate communication between sales staff, order pullers, forklift drivers, and customers to ensure timely order fulfillment.
- Provide receipts to forklift drivers and load builders.
- Facilitate the pulling of orders from the yard based on sales tickets.
- Oversee Merchandise Return Memos (MRMs) and ensure proper documentation and resolution.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at the service desk and surrounding area.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Friendly, confident demeanor with excellent communication skills.
- Strong multitasking and time management skills.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational habits.
- Ability to learn and recall customer names and preferences.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Prior experience in the hospitality or customer service industry is highly preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; working knowledge of point-of-sale or order management systems a plus.
- Strong product knowledge of lumber and hardware or a willingness to learn.
- Understanding of lumberyard layout and product locations is preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.
- Comfortable working in indoor/outdoor yard environments.

SALARY RANGE
$18.00 - $23.00 DOE
