We’re searching for a detail-oriented Sample Management Technician to join our energy laboratory team in Williston, ND.

In this role, you’ll handle the intake, documentation, and organization of environmental samples to support compliance and decision-making. From logging samples into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to overseeing storage and distribution, your work ensures accuracy, efficiency, and integrity across the lab.

What You’ll Do

  • Receive and document samples from clients, couriers, shipping, laboratory, and/or field staff;
  • Verify that all samples meet condition standards and comply with organizational policies, quality requirements, and applicable regulatory guidelines;
  • Accurately record sample information, details, and required analyses in laboratory software system;
  • Label, organize, and distribute samples to appropriate personnel in a timely manner;
  • Maintain orderly and secure sample storage areas and oversee the proper placement, retrieval, and disposal of samples in accordance with established protocols;
  • Prepare sample kits and manage outbound shipments as required;
  • Provide assistance to colleagues and support related operational functions, including inventory management, supply preparation, and general support activities;
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment in alignment with company standards and safety requirements;
  • Complete assigned tasks within established timelines while upholding accuracy, quality, and procedural standards;
  • Perform other duties as assigned, within the scope of the position and training provided.
Requirements:

What We’re Looking For

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience performing accurate data entry and/or administrative support with strong attention to detail
  • Hands-on experience in a professional laboratory or sample management environment strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general computer applications

Your Schedule and The Fine Print

  • Full-time position following a standard Monday through Friday schedule;
  • Ability to work outside of scheduled hours, including evenings or weekends, as required to meet operational or workload needs.
