You will manage multi-product purchase orders, optimize inventory levels, and build strong vendor partnerships to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery. Working closely with procurement, operations, and commercial teams, you’ll help streamline processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. The position requires a detail-oriented, analytical professional who thrives in a collaborative setting and is motivated to make a measurable impact. This role supports remote work within Eastern or Central Time Zones, allowing alignment with key team members. Candidates will gain exposure to diverse industrial supply chain operations while developing expertise in vendor management, purchasing strategies, and ERP systems.
The Sr Buyer will lead purchasing and supply chain activities to support operational efficiency and product availability:
- Manage complex purchasing activities across assigned categories, including supplier follow-up, issue resolution, and timely order processing.
- Coordinate supplier RFQs, evaluate quotes, and maintain accurate records in ERP systems.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and delivery terms with vendors while ensuring on-time delivery and supplier performance.
- Maintain inventory levels, monitor project-based requirements, and minimize stock-outs.
- Oversee cable and component inventory for distribution, collaborating with operations and warehouse teams.
- Serve as the primary liaison between sales and suppliers to provide order visibility and alignment on customer commitments.
- Contribute to supplier evaluations, performance reviews, and process improvement initiatives.
Candidates should bring relevant experience in purchasing and supply chain management:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, or related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered.
- 5+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain operations in industrial distribution or manufacturing, preferably in wire and cable.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of ERP systems and purchasing workflows.
- Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities across teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
- Familiarity with Incoterms, freight terms, or global purchasing practices is a plus.
- Competitive base salary ($75,000–$90,000) with annual performance-based bonus.
