Powder Coating Systems, an independent provider of powder coating and sandblasting, is presently seeking to hire an experienced Yard Expeditor for our shop. This position is a full-time position. The shift for this position normally runs from Monday through Friday from 8AM to 4:30PM.

Employees are eligible for Paid Time Off that starts accruing from the date of hire and can be used after the first ninety days of service. This position also offers six paid holidays that go into effect after the first ninety days as well a different Insurance benefits with the exception of Medical. Employees enjoy getting paid twice a month and the opportunity to qualify for a Sales Based Production Bonus.

The starting pay for this position is $22-25 per hour.

The Yard Expeditor is more than just a Yard Person even though this is the majority of the requirements. Our Yard Expeditor is charged with:

-Opening and closing the gates daily on time to allow service to customers.

-Maintaining the yard including keeping things organized and keeping the yard clean.

-Offering good customer service when loading and unloading customers.

-Assisting the front office in inventory, measuring and helping determine needs for each customer’s job.

-Assisting the floor team in hanging, prepping and packing jobs between customers.

-Assisting other team members with other non-production tasks.

-Operating one of two sit-down forklifts in their tasks.

-Other tasks as assigned by Management.

The best applicants for this position are punctual, ready to work, productive and have a customer service aptitude. This person will represent us in the yard. This person should also be experienced in operation a sit-down forklift safely regardless of weather conditions.

The minimum requirements for this position are:

-2-5 years sit-down forklift experience.

-2-5 years warehouse, shop or yard experience.

-Possession of a legal, current driver’s license (required to operate our forklifts)

-Possession of necessary documentation to satisfy an I-9 Immigration form. (This includes a document to establish identity and a document to establish the right to work in the United States. Due to Federal Law, we are not allowed to use copies of these forms to fulfill the requirement.)

-The ability to consistently lift fifty pounds. (The average weight of a box of powder is fifty pounds.)

-The ability to read, understand and communicate in English.

-Reliable transportation to commute to our shop in Tacoma on a daily basis. (Although Pierce Transit has a stop near the shop, we require our employees to be on time daily due to the ability to serve our customers.)

Some extra skills that may be helpful include:

-Experience with metal working. (Knowledge of different types of metal is a plus.)

-Experience with measuring and counting.

-Experience with Yard Management (i.e. keeping jobs together, ensuring jobs are tagged, etc.)

-Bilingual
