We aim to bring warmth and energy to everything we do.We have an exciting opportunity for a CAD Technician II in Fort Smith, AR!POSITION SUMMARYPerforms Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) and Geographic Information System (GIS) design assignments of proposed engineering and operations related projects, tracks and maintains the records related to those assignments.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Performs intermediate level assignments in support of distribution operations, such as construction projects, permit applications, etc.Performs intermediate level assignments working with and supporting the Engineering, Operations, and Construction teams to complete construction projects.Utilizes intermediate level CAD and GIS skills to support Gas OperationsProvides intermediate level support with process issues to optimize productivity and mapping accuracy.Utilizes intermediate level of Computer-aided Drafting (CAD) and Geographic Information System (GIS) skills to create and edit applicable construction drawings, civil engineering site plans, detail drawings, isometric drawings, mapping, and natural gas system appurtenances (e.g., regulator stations, valves, fittings).Maintains CAD and/or GIS production standards in the development and production of construction plans and specifications.Assists with QA/QC process to ensure CAD and/or GIS production standards are maintained.Processes survey data, field notes, plats, legal descriptions, address information, etc. in continuous effort to keep GIS database current and accurate.Collaborates closely with multiple company departments (GIS, Pipeline Safety, Operations, Construction, Business Development, Legal, Plant Accounting)Creates and runs queries of GIS data to provide easier access and retrieval of CNP infrastructure information from GIS database to support statistical analysis and creation of accurate maps, plans, and engineering schematic designs.Recommend improvements in process and methods used to generate CAD and/or GIS documentation.Interprets construction designs and drawings of both existing and proposed gas distribution facilities.Analyzes and interprets spatial data to ensure system integrity.Assist customers and employees with intermediate level facility information inquiries.Designs and produces special graphic presentation maps. Mapping easements and Land Base for subdivisions and pipelines as constructed.Will be assigned projects in support of CAD/GIS Department initiatives.Recommend solutions to data management issues to improve the efficiency of existing processes.Trains less experienced staff to perform duties listed above.Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE Requires a Vo-Tech/CAD/GIS/Drafting certificate or 60 credit hours in a related field from an accredited college or university. 2 Years of Geographic Information System (GIS) experience with an understanding of design methods for construction drawings, diagrams, and maps through the use of computer software. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES Experience in the use and function of drafting tools and office equipment applicable for positionExperience related to pipe, mechanical or architectural drawings, Drawing on job orders, completion reports, and related information.Experience and knowledge of drawing, posting, and/or plotting maps, atlas pages, plats, legal descriptions, and diagramsExperience reading, interpreting, and/or preparing written information, including but not limited to: Material lists, ROW information, Maps, and blueprints.Demonstrate success in partnering effectively with other departments and all levels of management including executives.Proficient in GIS, AutoCAD, Word Processing, and Spreadsheet programsExhibits high level of attention to detail in all facets of the work.Interpersonal/communication skills including good verbal skills exhibited in meetings, one-on-one exchanges, and presentations. Appropriate written communication skills required for everyday correspondence and reviewing writing in a technical format. Known for ability to work well with others, the position requires a great deal of collaboration across departments.Ability to provide feedback in a positive and constructive manner.Exhibits a high-level of personal initiative and motivation to multi-task several projects simultaneously.
