About This Position
The Licensed Electrician – Electronic Security Systems is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electronic security systems in commercial, institutional, and industrial environments. This position supports the installation and integration of access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and related low-voltage infrastructure.
Candidates must hold either a Journeyman Electrician license or a Master Electrician license and possess experience working with electrical and low-voltage systems. The role involves collaboration with project managers, engineers, and field technicians to ensure installations are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable electrical codes and project specifications.

- Install electronic security systems including access control, CCTV/video surveillance, intrusion detection, and intercom systems.
- Install and terminate low-voltage cabling including CAT6, fiber optic, and control wiring.
- Mount and wire field devices such as cameras, card readers, motion sensors, door contacts, and system controllers.
- Install racks, panels, enclosures, and related equipment according to system design specifications.
- Install electrical circuits, power supplies, transformers, and related components supporting security systems.
- Install conduit, cable trays, and pathways for electrical and low-voltage wiring.
- Ensure all electrical installations comply with applicable codes and industry standards.
- Integrate electronic security systems with building electrical infrastructure.
- Assist with system testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Verify proper device operation and system functionality.
- Identify and resolve wiring, connectivity, or device-related issues.
- Support integration with building networks and control systems when required.
- Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Document installation progress and report discrepancies in system design or field conditions.
- Coordinate with project managers, system engineers, and other trades during installation.
- Maintain records of installed systems, wiring routes, and equipment.
- Active Journeyman Electrician license or Master Electrician license in the applicable state.
- 3–8+ years of electrical or low-voltage installation experience.
- Experience installing electronic security systems such as access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection.
- Knowledge of electrical wiring methods, conduit installation, and low-voltage cabling practices.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites.
$80,000 - $95,000 a year
