General Statement of Responsibilities:
The Concierge serves as the first point of contact for residents, guests, and visitors at Lantern Crest Senior Living. This position is responsible for creating a welcoming and professional environment while ensuring all guests receive exceptional customer service. The Concierge supports the administrative, marketing, and operations teams by managing front-desk functions, responding to inquiries, coordinating resident requests, and maintaining the overall appearance of the reception and lobby areas.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist all residents, visitors, and vendors in a courteous, professional manner.
- Provide information about community services, programs, and amenities.
- Anticipate and respond promptly to resident and guest needs, ensuring every interaction reflects Lantern Crest’s Service Standards of Excellence.
- Promote resident satisfaction by addressing questions, calming distressed residents, and escalating concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Support a positive and professional community image through demeanor, communication, and appearance.
- Answer and direct telephone calls courteously, relay accurate messages, and ensure timely communication to staff or departments.
- Direct visitors to the appropriate department, office, or resident apartment.
- Perform clerical and administrative duties as directed by the Lead Concierge or Business Office Director.
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and deliveries; notify residents of received items.
- Operate office equipment and assist with business center tasks such as photocopying, faxing, scanning, and postage metering.
- Complete all opening and closing desk procedures accurately.
- Coordinate resident service requests including transportation, wake-up calls, dry cleaning, pet care, housekeeping, or errands.
- Record and promptly deliver maintenance work orders to the Maintenance Department.
- Monitor the Emergency Alert System and respond immediately to all calls according to established safety and emergency protocols.
- Encourage teamwork and cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.
- Arrange and conduct community tours for scheduled appointments and walk-in visitors.
- Maintain current and accurate marketing materials and property literature in the reception area.
- Assist with assembling and updating marketing and informational packets for prospective residents.
- Support marketing initiatives by ensuring a positive impression of the community during every visitor or phone interaction.
- Maintain the front desk and lobby areas in a clean, organized, and professional condition at all times.
- Ensure posted signage and displays are accurate, updated, and free from damage or smudges.
- Oversee lobby refreshments to ensure availability and presentation standards are met.
- Follow all established safety protocols to maintain a secure environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
- Report any safety hazards, incidents, or suspected abuse of dependent adults or elders immediately to the supervisor.
- Assist the Activities Department by taking and recording event and transportation reservations accurately.
- Maintain organized logs, records, and reports as required by management.
- Provide clerical support to community departments as needed.
- Support community marketing efforts through professional and friendly interactions during property tours and phone inquiries.
- Communicate any observed or suspected resident changes in condition to a supervisor immediately.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests by following established safety standards and procedures.
- Promote teamwork through cooperative and respectful interactions with co-workers and other departments.
- Work a flexible schedule as needed to support events, tours, and community outreach.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
Must be 18 years or older. High school diploma or equivalent required; prior experience in hospitality, senior living, or customer service preferred. Exceptional customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills. Strong organization, multitasking, and leadership capabilities. Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with resident or concierge software a plus. Able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive resident matters.
Licenses/Certifications:
A valid driver’s license may be required with application submission and must be maintained throughout employment.

Displays sincere compassion towards cognitively impaired older adults. Demonstrates genuine concern for the physical and emotional needs of older people and their families. Applicants must have a reputation for honesty and trustworthiness. Must be responsible and able to exercise good judgment, accept administrative supervision, pay attention to detail, follow instructions, including the ability to interact effectively and communicate with people in a professional and courteous manner. Must be highly confidential and work as a team with other staff. Applicants should be sensitive to clients’ needs.

Ability to work with people of all social and ethnic backgrounds, resolve conflicts, negotiate situations, and facilitate consensus.
Physical and Personal Requirements:
Normal office environment. Sit or stand for long periods of time. Reach, bend, climb, stoop, lift up to 25 lbs. repetitive hand movement; use and view PC. Travel as needed.
Compliance:
Each employee plays a key role in creating a compliance culture. Employees are expected to learn and comply with all Lantern Crest policies and procedures. One must have the ability to understand the implications and complexities of all compliance policies. Participation in all compliance training is mandatory and generally has a heightened awareness of policies and regulations that are specific to one’s department and position. All Lantern Crest employees are expected to report violations or suspected violations of compliance policies or regulations.
Other:
Applicants must successfully pass a pre-screening tuberculin skin test or x-ray and a urine drug screen test. Candidates will be required to undergo a physical to ensure health is adequate to perform all duties of the position. Applicants must complete application and authorization form, both must be submitted to Human Resources prior to the close date indicated. Applicants will be required to undergo a background check consisting of fingerprinting and criminal records check with DOJ and FBI.
