Pay- $26.31/Hour
Must be available weekends (morning, afternoon, evenings)
Must have a valid CALIFORNIA driver license for 2+ years
Job Summary:
The Parking Enforcement Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating and dispatching parking enforcement officers in response to service requests, complaints, and enforcement needs. This position requires excellent communication, multitasking, and organizational skills to maintain efficient operations and ensure compliance with parking regulations.
To be hired, all candidates must submit to a background check and pre-employment drug screen.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive and prioritize calls for service regarding parking violations, abandoned vehicles, blocked driveways, and other parking-related issues.
Dispatch parking enforcement officers to specific locations using radio, phone, or computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems.
Monitor officer locations and status to ensure safety and efficient response times.
Maintain accurate logs and records of incoming calls, officer responses, and enforcement activities.
Assist in coordinating with other departments such as police, towing services, and public works as needed.
Respond to inquiries from the public in a courteous and professional manner.
Use mapping and GIS tools to direct officers and verify location information.
Compile and distribute daily activity reports and enforcement data.
Perform clerical duties such as data entry, record management, and report generation.
Adhere to all local, state, and organizational policies regarding privacy, enforcement procedures, and communications.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Prior experience in dispatch, customer service, or administrative support preferred.
Experience in law enforcement or parking enforcement environment a plus.
Skills & Abilities:
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure and high paced environment.
Proficiency with dispatch software, Microsoft Office, and general computer use.
Familiarity with local geography and street layouts.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Work Environment & Conditions:
Office-based with frequent use of computers, radios, and telephones.
May involve shift work, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Fast-paced environment with frequent multitasking.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual capabilities (e.g., English/Spanish) highly desirable.
Knowledge of municipal parking codes and enforcement procedures.
