Position Summary
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) – Psychiatry will provide high-quality, patient-centered mental health care within a multidisciplinary behavioral health and neurological practice. Working collaboratively with supervising psychiatrists, the APP will evaluate patients, diagnose psychiatric conditions, develop individualized treatment plans, and manage ongoing care for patients with a range of mental health disorders, including mood, anxiety, neurocognitive, and behavioral conditions.

The APP will play a critical role in supporting evidence-based psychiatric care, including pharmacologic management, psychotherapy, and care coordination to optimize patient outcomes and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations including detailed mental health histories, mental status exams, and risk assessments
  
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic psychiatric conditions, including depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, and cognitive disorders
  
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication management and behavioral health interventions
  
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications in collaboration with supervising psychiatrists
  
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans to optimize mental health outcomes
  
• Provide brief psychotherapeutic interventions and supportive counseling as appropriate
  
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and care teams on complex or high-risk cases
  
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medications, and coping strategies
  
• Triage patient concerns and evaluate urgent psychiatric or behavioral health issues
  
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record
  
• Ensure continuity of care through coordination with psychiatrists, therapists, and clinical staff
  
• Respond to behavioral health emergencies as needed, including Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR

Requirements / Qualifications

• Current, active ARPN or PA license in the state of Florida
  
• Board certification or eligibility in Psychiatric-Mental Health (PMHNP) or relevant PA specialty
  
• Minimum 2 years clinical experience in psychiatry, behavioral health, or neurology preferred
  
• Strong knowledge of psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment planning
  
• Experience in medication management for psychiatric and neurobehavioral disorders
  
• Familiarity with psychotherapy modalities and brief behavioral interventions
  
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
  
• Excellent communication and patient education skills
  
• Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems
  
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification
  
• Commitment to continuing education and staying current with advances in psychiatric care
