This role offers the opportunity to lead a critical engineering team responsible for building the foundational user and business identity systems that power key products and AI-driven experiences. You will define and execute the technical strategy for authoritative user data, ensuring consistency, privacy, and scalability across online, offline, and event-driven systems. By collaborating closely with product, infrastructure, and cross-organizational partners, you will enable reliable, governed data interfaces that support seamless product experiences. The position requires a combination of deep technical expertise, leadership experience, and a strong focus on inclusive team culture. Your work will have high impact across the organization, shaping how user and business data is managed, trusted, and leveraged at scale.
- Lead the User Foundation team responsible for authoritative user and business data models, online APIs, and event interfaces
- Define and drive multi-year technical strategy for scalable, privacy-first user identity systems
- Ensure consistent adoption of governed interfaces to maintain high-quality, compliant source-of-truth data
- Establish and scale data governance practices, including cataloging, auditing, and compliance-by-design
- Enable AI and product teams with trusted, well-governed user data for personalization and advanced analytics
- Collaborate across product, infrastructure, and cross-org teams to deliver high-impact systems and workflows
- Recruit, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team while fostering an inclusive, high-ownership culture
Requirements:
- 10+ years of industry experience, including 5+ years in engineering management or equivalent leadership roles
- Strong background in distributed, large-scale backend and data systems: domain modeling, APIs, event-driven architectures, and offline pipelines
- Proven experience driving adoption across multiple stakeholders and complex organizational structures
- Expertise in building systems with scale, performance, privacy, compliance, and governance considerations
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with ability to define technical vision and influence cross-functional teams
- Track record of inclusive leadership, talent development, and building high-ownership teams
- Preferred: experience with identity/user/account modeling at scale, data governance practices, and partnership with compliance or trust organizations

- Competitive salary range of $204,000 – $255,000 USD, based on experience and role responsibilities
