Position Summary

The Designer will work remotely under limited supervision to prepare mechanical designs and drawings utilizing NX1980 and Teamcenter, correctly applying the ASME Y14.5-M-1994 (or higher) GD&T standard. This work will be done to support projects within APS-TD (PIP-II, EIC, Accelerator Support, LHC, AUP, SRF, SC Magnets). The work will be done using Design/Drafting procedures, working to meet project schedules and other requirements, and will include working directly with the engineering staff working on the projects to research and analyze design solutions, coordinate design development, and specify and select design components and materials. Knowledge of NX 1980 and Teamcenter is beneficial.

Responsibilities:

Design tolerance and stack up calculations, layout designs, detailing, advanced level 3D models, and 2D drawings required for the project.

3D models and 2D drawings are completed in NX1980, managed in Teamcenter. Quantity will be directed by Fermilab for each task. Knowledge of NX 1980 and Teamcenter is beneficial.

Requirements:

• Demonstrate acceptable proficiency in NX1980 CAD via an interview through the ZOOM meeting portal.
• A minimum of a 5 years of experience as Designer.
• Ability to deliver a quality work product to deadline-driven projects.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Ability to pass a background investigation, including but not limited to a nationwide criminal record search, and other relevant background information deemed necessary by the contract.
• United States citizenship is required to work on a federal contract and will be electronically verified via E-Verify.
