As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will:

• Own backend systems and infrastructure end-to-end, from design through deployment and scaling.
• Build performant, reliable APIs and services that power mission-critical financial products.
• Design and implement scalable architectures on cloud platforms such as AWS using Node (TypeScript).
• Make pragmatic tradeoffs between speed, reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
• Ship production code frequently while maintaining high standards for code quality.
• Establish and promote technical patterns and best practices within the engineering team.
• Collaborate effectively with product engineers, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to drive outcomes.

Candidates should have:

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong backend focus.
• Proven experience building and scaling production systems on Node and AWS.
• Proficiency in TypeScript (or equivalent experience with backend languages).
• Deep understanding of system performance, reliability, and scalability principles.
• Ability to make thoughtful architectural decisions in ambiguous and evolving environments.
• Strong ownership mentality and experience delivering projects independently under tight deadlines.
