Research Assistant at Pediatric Specialists of Virginia – Falls Church, Virginia

Overview
The employee must adhere to GCP, FDA, and Pediatric Specialists of Virginia guidelines when implementing research trials to ensure the highest quality research within PSV. Communicates effectively and works in collaboration with the research team in order to meet research study and departmental objectives. Demonstrates respect and understanding of other clinical disciplines. Makes a continuous effort to foster self-development, enhance work-related skills and improve job performance and expertise. This role is working 20 hours/week, day shift in our Fairfax location at the Inova Schar Cancer Institute.

Job Description
• Data entry for clinical database research study
• Management of clinical research study materials
• Obtain consents
• Manage specimen collection
• Assure study and regulatory compliance by maintaining IRB documentation and reporting

Minimum Qualifications Required
• Basic biology knowledge
• All employees must pass an employment TB, drug and physical exam

Desired Qualifications
• College degree is preferable but not necessary
• Interest in clinical research is desirable, but clinical experience is not necessary
• Knowledge of electronic medical record usage is desirable, but not required
• Organizational skills
• Attention to detail
• Responsibility, reliability, and ability to work independently
