About the Role:
The Site Supervisor for commercial building projects plays a critical role in ensuring that construction activities are executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. This position is responsible for overseeing daily operations on-site, coordinating between subcontractors, suppliers, and project managers to maintain project timelines and budgets. The Site Supervisor ensures compliance with all safety regulations and building codes, mitigating risks and fostering a safe working environment for all personnel. They act as the primary point of contact on-site, resolving issues promptly and facilitating clear communication among all stakeholders. Ultimately, the role is pivotal in delivering successful commercial building projects that meet client expectations and regulatory requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in construction management is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a supervisory role within commercial construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, safety regulations, and building codes applicable in the United States.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from job sites.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety certification or equivalent safety training.
- Experience with project management software such as Procore, PlanGrid, or similar tools.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams.
- First aid and CPR certification.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate all on-site construction activities to ensure adherence to project plans and schedules.
- Monitor work quality and compliance with safety standards, building codes, and company policies.
- Manage subcontractors and labor teams, providing guidance and resolving conflicts as they arise.
- Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings to track milestones and address potential delays.
- Maintain accurate documentation of daily activities, incidents, and resource usage for reporting purposes.
