Position Summary

The Vice President of Marketing & Communications is the architect of how the world sees, understands, and chooses AI Studio. This is not a traditional marketing role - it is a market-defining role. The ideal candidate is a seasoned executive who brings a unique blend of strategic brand leadership, growth marketing expertise, and polished communications skills to an organization on a mission to become the definitive AI partner for credit unions nationally.

This individual will own AI Studio's brand narrative, digital presence, thought leadership platform, and marketing performance - and will serve as a visible, credible ambassador for the organization at conferences, industry events, and executive engagements. Proficiency in AI-powered marketing tools, comfort navigating ambiguity, and a genuine passion for the credit union movement are essential.

This is a remote position with periodic travel required for team meetings, conferences, and partner engagements. Travel up to 25%.

Key Responsibilities

Brand & Communications Strategy

  • Own and drive AI Studio's comprehensive brand and communications strategy - positioning AI Studio not as an option, but as the definitive choice for credit unions navigating their AI journey.
  • Develop and maintain a clear, compelling, and consistent messaging framework that resonates with credit union executives, fintech leaders, solution providers, and board-level stakeholders.
  • Create and execute a multi-channel communications strategy including digital, social, event, and other media to drive awareness, credibility, and preference.
  • Serve as the guardian of AI Studio's brand voice across all internal and external touchpoints.

Website & Digital Presence

  • Design, build, and maintain AI Studio's website and LinkedIn presence - ensuring it reflects brand standards, is AI-optimized for search and discoverability, and serves as a dynamic, high-converting hub for prospects and members.
  • Develop, launch, and maintain the AI Studio member portal, including ongoing content management and user experience improvements.
  • Oversee SEO/SEM strategy and ensure all digital properties perform against measurable traffic and engagement targets.
  • Leverage AI-powered tools across functions to drive efficiency, personalization, and performance.

Thought Leadership & Industry Presence

  • Lead the development and execution of AI Studio's thought leadership platform.
  • Build and manage the LinkedIn presence and broader social media footprint for AI Studio leadership, including content strategy, ghostwriting, and engagement.
  • Represent AI Studio with executive presence at industry conferences, webinars, panels, and partner engagements - serving as a compelling spokesperson for the organization.
  • Cultivate and maintain AI Studio's visibility in trade publications, industry associations, and credit union media channels.

Marketing Strategy & Execution

  • Develop, implement, and continuously refine AI Studio's marketing strategic plan - aligning strategy with tactical initiatives to meet growth and brand objectives.
  • Oversee all marketing channels including digital, email, social media, event marketing, content marketing, and partner co-marketing.
  • Manage all marketing materials, ensuring quality, consistency, and brand alignment across every deliverable.
  • Collaborate with external agencies and vendors to extend marketing capabilities while maintaining brand control and budget discipline.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of regulatory and compliance considerations relevant to marketing in the financial services space.
  • Engage in voice of customer (VOC) strategy and leverage creative ways (beyond surveys) to gather insights
  • Conduct market research to stay abreast of competitor activities, AI, and credit union trends

Performance Management & Reporting

  • Define, track, and report on marketing KPIs and company performance metrics - presenting results to the Board, investors, and other key stakeholders as applicable.
  • Regularly deliver analytics and insights on campaign performance, website traffic, audience engagement, and brand health.
  • Financial responsibility, ensure responsible budget allocation and return on investment.
  • Implement continuous improvement processes to optimize effectiveness.

Leadership & Organizational Contribution

  • Serve as an integral, active member of the AI Studio team, contributing not only to day-to-day work but also strategic planning and company culture.
  • Represent AI Studio with the highest degree of professionalism, integrity, and brand alignment in all settings - internal and external.
  • Build and nurture relationships with credit union executives, fintech partners, solution providers, and industry associations on behalf of AI Studio.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and execution excellence.
  • Perform other duties as required in support of AI Studio's mission and growth objectives.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field plus a minimum of 7 years of progressive marketing and communications leadership experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role in a credit union or start up environment. OR High School Diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of 12 years of progressive marketing and communications leadership experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role in a credit union or start up environment. Master's degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience marketing within the financial services, fintech, or credit union industry strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record of building and scaling brand presence for a growing organization.

Skills & Competencies

  • Brand Strategy: Deep expertise in brand development, positioning, and management — with a demonstrated ability to differentiate a challenger brand in a competitive market.
  • Digital Marketing: Strong command of SEO/SEM, content marketing, email marketing, social media, and digital analytics platforms.
  • Communications: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; able to distill complex AI and technology concepts into compelling, accessible narratives for diverse audiences.
  • AI Fluency: Working knowledge of AI-powered tools and a genuine enthusiasm for integrating emerging technology into marketing operations.
  • Thought Leadership: Experience developing executive content programs, including LinkedIn strategy, conference presentations, and industry publications.
  • Analytics & Reporting: Strong analytical capability with experience presenting marketing performance and company KPIs to board-level audiences.
  • Executive Presence: Polished, credible, and confident in high-stakes settings - including conferences, partner meetings, and media engagements.
  • Project Management: Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a dynamic, startup-paced environment.
  • Relationship Building: Ability to cultivate trusted relationships with executives, partners, and industry stakeholders at all levels.
