Position Overview

At Duck Stop Travel Center, our Maintenance Associates keep our facility running safely, smoothly, and sparkling clean — inside and out. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that restrooms, showers, parking areas, and other public spaces meet the highest standards of cleanliness and care. This role is essential in providing every traveler with a welcoming, comfortable, and safe environment during their stop.

You’ll take pride in creating a spotless, well-maintained space that reflects our promise of “miles of smiles” for every guest. Whether you’re cleaning, repairing, or supporting team operations, you’ll help maintain the warm and professional image Duck Stop is known for.

Key Responsibilities

Facility Cleanliness & Upkeep

• Thoroughly clean and disinfect all restroom and shower fixtures, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, countertops, and walls.
• Sweep, mop, and scrub floors with attention to high-traffic and high-use areas.
• Empty trash receptacles throughout the facility, replacing liners and ensuring proper disposal.
• Refill and maintain all dispensers (toilet paper, paper towels, soap, and other supplies).
• Inspect and address minor maintenance issues such as leaks, clogs, or loose fixtures.

Outdoor & Grounds Maintenance

• Maintain a clean, safe, and inviting outdoor environment including parking lots, fueling areas, and walkways.
• Pick up litter and debris throughout the property on a regular basis.
• Empty exterior trash bins and monitor waste disposal areas for cleanliness.
• Assist with light maintenance and repair of outdoor equipment, signage, and fixtures.
• Clean and maintain fueling areas, including pumps and surrounding surfaces.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all Duck Stop safety procedures and cleaning protocols, including proper use of chemicals and equipment.
• Conduct regular checks of the facility and report hazards, spills, or maintenance concerns promptly.
• Comply with OSHA standards and company health and sanitation policies.
• Help ensure a safe environment for customers and team members at all times.

Teamwork & Customer Service

• Greet and assist customers courteously when approached, directing them as needed.
• Work collaboratively with other team members to maintain a clean and welcoming travel center.
• Communicate with management regarding supplies, repairs, or maintenance needs.
• Support other departments when necessary to ensure smooth operations across the center.

• Prior maintenance, janitorial, or facility care experience
• Attention to detail and pride in creating a clean, welcoming environment
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs and perform repetitive cleaning tasks
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends, holidays, and evenings
