The Accountant will work under the direction of the Division Controller to maintain accurate financial records and perform in-depth analyses of balance sheets and general ledger accounts. This role will also support corporate, insurance, and pharmacy programs, ensuring the integrity of financial data.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES- Prepare and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Assist with the month-end close process and provide support to various departments as needed.
- Collaborate with accounting specialists to prioritize and resolve issues effectively.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a related field preferred.
- Self-Motivated: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Mathematical Skills: Strong proficiency in basic mathematics with a focus on accuracy.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of Policies: Familiarity with credit policies, accounting principles, and bookkeeping regulations, as well as strong knowledge of collection regulations and fair credit practices.
- Attention to Detail: Capable of performing repetitive tasks that require meticulous attention to detail.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and capable of using office equipment (e.g., 10-key).
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to discuss complex issues in a clear and non-emotional manner.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with team members and customers, while managing difficult conversations with empathy.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Skilled in interpreting statement activity to identify accounts at risk and assist in developing strategies to support timely payments.
