A and S Fire Protection, Inc. is seeking an experienced Working Superintendent to lead field operations while remaining hands-on in the installation of fire sprinkler systems. This role is ideal for a seasoned fire sprinkler fitter who thrives in a leadership capacity and is ready to take ownership of projects from layout through completion.
The Working Superintendent will oversee crews, coordinate with General Contractors, ensure compliance with NFPA standards, and maintain strict adherence to project schedules and safety requirements. This is a leadership role with strong growth potential into future management and estimating positions within the company.

Key ResponsibilitiesLead and supervise field crews on residential, commercial, industrial, and government fire sprinkler projects
Perform hands-on installation, fitting, and layout of fire sprinkler systems per NFPA 13 and 25 standards
Coordinate daily jobsite activities and maintain strong communication with General Contractors
Ensure projects remain on schedule and within scope
Monitor jobsite safety and compliance with applicable codes and regulations
Maintain accurate project documentation and field reports
Troubleshoot jobsite challenges and implement effective solutions
Oversee quality control to ensure installations meet company standards
Support training and mentorship of crew members
Maintain professionalism and strong working relationships on all project sites
Minimum 5 to 6+ years of experience fitting fire sprinkler pipe and performing layout
Strong working knowledge of NFPA 13 and NFPA 25 standards
Cal-Fire Fitters Card (Required)
OSHA 30 Certification
Scissorlift Certification
NICET Certification preferred
Knows how to solder and install residential copper systems
Knowledge of CPVC installation
Proven leadership and field management experience
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project specifications
Strong organizational and communication skills
Reliable, punctual, and prepared to lead daily operations
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
High School Diploma or GED
Interest in long-term growth into management/estimating roles
- Compensation:
$35 $45+ per hour, depending on experience
