About This Position

Arnold Machine Inc., in Tiffin, OH, designs and manufactures highly customized automated equipment. We are seeking a forward-thinking, self-driven IT Systems Automation & AI Specialist with 3–5 years of experience who thrives in a hands-on, solutions-oriented environment. This role focuses on building automation, developing AI-enabled tools, and optimizing enterprise systems to improve operational efficiency, data quality, and decision-making across the organization. Working alongside a managed service provider (MSP) that supports daily end-user and system administration needs, this position owns automation initiatives, system integrations, escalations, and continuous improvement efforts. Reporting to the Director of Information & Technology Systems, this role plays a key part in advancing IT capabilities through scalable tools and modern technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Automation & AI Enablement: Design, build, and maintain internal automation solutions using Power Automate, PowerShell, Python, and low-/no-code platforms. Develop AI-assisted tools and workflows to streamline reporting, data processing, system administration tasks, and cross-system integrations. Identify repetitive or manual processes and implement automation or AI-driven improvements while ensuring transparency, traceability, and security.
  • Enterprise Applications & Integration Support: Support SyteLine ERP, CAD Link, engineering integrations, and reporting platforms. Assist with data flows, validation, and vendor coordination during system upgrades or integrations. Develop reports, dashboards, and scoreboards that provide clear, consistent operational insights.
  • Project & Modernization Support: Contribute to IT initiatives including automation, infrastructure upgrades, and security enhancements. Assist with testing, documentation, validation, and user enablement while collaborating with internal teams, MSPs, and external vendors to deliver scalable solutions.
  • Escalation & Advanced Support: Respond to escalated or time-sensitive IT issues requiring deeper systems or automation expertise. Coordinate resolution with the MSP as needed; this is a secondary responsibility.
  • Security & Compliance Support: Ensure all automation and AI solutions align with company security and compliance standards. Support MFA, access reviews, audit preparation, and change control processes for scripts, workflows, and integrations.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Management: Maintain structured documentation for automation, integrations, and workflows to support long-term maintainability, ISO compliance, and future AI/RAG initiatives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, operations, and business teams to identify opportunities for system improvements, ensuring solutions are practical, scalable, and aligned with business goals.

Requirements:

  • 3–5 years of experience in IT systems, automation, or technical analyst roles (manufacturing or engineering environment preferred)
  • Proficiency with Windows 11 and Microsoft 365, with a foundational understanding of Azure / Entra ID
  • Experience with ERP systems (SyteLine preferred) and CAD-related integrations
  • Hands-on experience with scripting or development (PowerShell, Python, or similar)
  • Familiarity with Power Automate, low-code/no-code platforms, APIs, and AI-assisted development tools
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while working both independently and collaboratively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including clear and structured documentation
