This role offers the opportunity to design, deploy, and maintain mission-critical cloud infrastructure and platform services for complex, highly regulated environments. You will work hands-on with containerized applications, hybrid and multi-cloud deployments, and DevSecOps pipelines, ensuring security, resilience, and operational efficiency. Collaborating closely with engineers, developers, and stakeholders, you will drive automation, streamline deployments, and implement robust monitoring and compliance practices. This position requires a proactive, security-first mindset, with significant influence on platform performance, reliability, and operational success. Remote-based with occasional travel, the role provides exposure to cutting-edge technologies in cloud, CI/CD, and container orchestration, with meaningful impact on federal and defense programs.
- Architect, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitLab to streamline application deployment and automation
- Support migration of legacy repositories and workflows from BitBucket to GitLab
- Design, deploy, and manage infrastructure across AWS GovCloud, edge, and hybrid networks using Terraform, Ansible, and GitLab
- Lead containerization and Kubernetes orchestration efforts, including custom Helm chart development and cluster resilience testing
- Automate security and compliance processes, including RHEL image hardening, STIG checklist execution, and continuous ATO support
- Implement comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and reporting systems using tools such as Prometheus and Grafana
- Manage secrets and cryptographic lifecycles, including automated key rotations
- Collaborate with developers, DevSecOps engineers, and end users to maintain platform stability, security, and operational excellence
- Active Secret clearance or higher and meeting DoD 8570/8140 baseline certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE)
- 5+ years of experience as a DevSecOps or Platform Engineer in federal, DoD, or highly regulated environments
- Strong AWS GovCloud and hybrid cloud expertise, with hands-on Kubernetes administration and custom Helm chart development (CKAD or CKA preferred)
- Proficiency in RHEL system administration, automated system/container hardening, and scripting
- Advanced experience building and maintaining GitLab pipelines, including migration from BitBucket
- Security-first mindset with automation-centric approach to minimize manual tasks
- Knowledge of identity and access management protocols (SAML, OAuth2, OIDC) and proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python)
- Bonus: Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field, prior experience with Navy programs or IL5+ environments, AWS certification (Solutions Architect or Developer Associate)
