Job Summary
The Veterinary Clinical Liaison (VCL) Manager is responsible for supervising the VCL Team and daily clinical workflows to ensure diagnostic imaging cases are coordinated accurately, efficiently, and within established service-level expectations. This role combines clinical expertise in veterinary teleradiology case management with operational leadership to ensure high-quality case preparation, strong client relationships with veterinary clinic partners, and consistent operational performance. The VCL Manager ensures the team maintains strict turnaround expectations, including 1-hour priority case response and 24-hour standard case delivery, while supporting quality control, staff development, and operational efficiency.

Essential Job Functions
Clinical & Operational Oversight
- Oversee daily clinical liaison workflow to ensure cases are processed accurately and within established turnaround times.
- Apply veterinary clinical knowledge when reviewing case escalations or quality concerns.
- Monitor case queues and operational metrics to maintain service-level agreements (SLAs).
- Ensure diagnostic imaging submissions (radiographs, CT, MRI, ultrasound) are complete and prepared appropriately for radiologist interpretation.
- Serve as escalation point for complex case coordination issues.
Staff Supervision & Leadership
Management duties include, but are not limited to:
- Interviewing, selecting, and onboarding VCL staff
- Training and coaching employees on workflows and clinical standards
- Planning and directing employee work assignments
- Evaluating employee productivity, performance, and efficiency
- Addressing employee concerns and complaints
- Providing corrective coaching and discipline when necessary
- Making recommendations regarding hiring, advancement, and promotion
- Managing staffing coverage and workflow distribution
Quality Control & Performance Management
- Maintain quality assurance standards for case preparation and documentation
- Monitor and audit team KPIs ensure turnaround time, case accuracy, workload, and communication responsiveness.
- Provide performance feedback and coaching to ensure consistent service delivery.
- Identify opportunities for workflow improvement and operational efficiency.
Client Relationship Management
- Support veterinary clinic partners by ensuring timely and accurate case coordination.
- Assist with resolving service concerns or client questions.
- Promote strong professional communication between clinical teams and radiologists.
Additional Responsibilities and Requirements
- Supports team involved in daily duties as needed
- Protecting the team from "organizational noise” to prevent distractions
- Maintain reliable internet connectivity and remote work environment
- Taking on ad-hoc, high-priority projects on an as needed basis
- Additional duties in support of the organization
Qualifications, Education, and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, Master’s a preferred
- Veterinary technician certifications or credentials LVT, CVT, RVT
- Prior management experience minimum 5 years leading a clinical team in a veterinary setting, managing remote team preferred
- VTSDI preferred
- Minimum 15 years of veterinary clinical experience
- Experience with proper radiographic techniques and exposure to advanced imaging modalities (Ultrasound, CT, MRI) required.
- Experience in veterinary emergency medicine, radiology, or diagnostic imaging workflows
- Strong understanding of diagnostic imaging workflows (radiographs, CT, MRI, ultrasound)
- Extensive knowledge of anatomy, diagnostic imaging and veterinary medical terminology
- Typing speed of 60 words per minute or faster
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under time-sensitive conditions
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Reliable internet bandwidth of 100–300 Mbps

Working Conditions
- Fully remote position
- Computer-based work environment with high case volume
- VCR provides required computer equipment and monitors and partial reimbursement for internet service. Employees must maintain stable high-speed internet and a professional home office environment with minimal background noise to ensure effective communication and productivity.
