Quality Assurance Engineer 3 – Onsite in Savannah, GA

Gulfstream is seeking a skilled Quality Assurance Engineer 3 to drive quality improvement, supplier performance, and process excellence across our Completions and Aftermarket operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead quality investigations, root‑cause analysis, and corrective actions
  • Conduct process and product audits, including supplier audits
  • Develop and maintain KPIs, quality plans, QADs, and inspection plans
  • Support MRB activities and quality trend analysis
  • Interface directly with customers and internal teams on quality matters
  • Promote continuous improvement and Lean principles across operations

  • Supplier quality experience
  • MRB certification
  • Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills
  • Proficiency in inspection tools, MiniTab, GD&T, and aviation quality systems
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s in Engineering, Aviation Sciences, Quality Systems, or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years quality assurance/control, manufacturing, or military operations experience
  • A&P license may substitute for degree with required experience
  • ASQ CQE, FAA designee experience, or advanced degree preferred

Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, aviation sciences, quality systems or related field required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 4 years quality assurance/control, manufacturing operations and/or military operations experience is required.. Position Purpose:Performs Quality Assurance Engineering assignments requiring independent evaluation, selection, and application of standard Quality Engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgment and ingenuity in making adaptations and modifications. Tasks are performed on medium, moderately complex contracts requiring independent execution within a defined set of skills or knowledge area without help or coaching from others. In working with senior level Quality Assurance Engineers, individuals may be exposed to higher level skills that may require help or coaching from others.
Job Description
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:Essential Functions:
  1. Actively identifies and completes process improvement projects related to achieving improved quality or efficiency within their area of responsibility.
  2. Monitors workflow and progress and ensures that standards/expectations are met; assist Coordinators in resolving issues.
  3. Interprets and executes company policies and procedures; develops new procedures as required.
  4. Develops processes to identify, analyze and correct quality trends.
  5. Maintains KPIs for the MRB process to demonstrate process effectiveness and improved efficiency.
  6. Promotes, encourages and leads employees towards a continuous improvement culture.
  7. Serves as QA customer interface for various oversight activities.
  8. Performs Quality Engineering activities using defined software tools and applications such as MiniTab.
  9. Proficient in the use of inspection tools and techniques.
  10. Performs quality planning activities including Quality Plans, QADs and Inspection Plans as required. by the assigned project(s).
  11. Participates in process improvement activities through monitoring, root cause investigations, auditing, failure analysis, etc.
  12. Participates in CDRL development, review and delivery to the customer as required. by the assigned project(s).
  13. Assists in gauging and calibration activities as necessary.
  14. Assists in developing fabrication/build processes and standards.
  15. Participates in MRB disposition activities.
  16. Performs QA estimating for small to medium, less complex projects.
Perform other duties as assigned.Other Requirements:
  1. An Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License may be used in combination with 4 years of related experience (in addition to the experience requirements below) in lieu of the degree requirement.
  2. ASQ certification (CQE) and/or experience as a FAA recognized airworthiness designee highly preferred.
  3. Advanced degree in engineering or related curriculum preferred.
  4. Maintain an up to date knowledge in the areas of Quality Assurance, Regulatory Compliance, Design Controls, Risk Management, and Statistical Techniques.
  5. Knowledgeable of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T) ASME Y14.5.
  6. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  7. Aerospace industry experience preferred.
  8. Demonstrated experience and knowledge of FAA regulations, CATIA and Solumina preferred.
  9. Knowledgeable of manufacturing processes.
  10. Lean/Six Sigma certification as a green belt preferred.
  11. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
  12. Proficient computer skills.
This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
