Job Description
Agile Space Industries is seeking a Facilities Technician I/II to support our growing operations in Durango, CO. This role is part of our Facilities Operations team and supports the safe operation, upkeep, and reliability of facility electrical and mechanical systems across our sites. The position assists with routine maintenance, inspections, documentation, basic troubleshooting, and coordination of electrical work. Work is limited to tasks permitted for non-licensed facilities personnel under applicable Colorado law, company policy, and site safety procedures. Electrical work requiring a license, permit, system modification, or connection to building power systems will be performed by or under the direction of appropriately licensed electrical personnel.
Responsibilities
- Assist with routine maintenance, inspections, and basic troubleshooting of existing facility electrical systems, equipment, utilities, and supporting infrastructure within the limits permitted for non-licensed facilities personnel.
- Support preventative maintenance activities, including visual inspections, cleaning, labeling, documentation, equipment checks, and reporting of electrical or mechanical issues.
- Identify, document, and escalate electrical concerns, safety hazards, equipment failures, or repair needs to Facilities leadership and/or licensed electrical contractors.
- Coordinate access, scheduling, parts, documentation, and follow-up for repairs or installations performed by licensed electricians, electrical contractors, or other qualified vendors.
- Assist with maintenance of facility utility systems and infrastructure, including monitoring equipment condition, supporting shutdown/startup activities, and helping maintain accurate records.
- Perform basic facilities support tasks such as replacing lamps or plug-in components, resetting equipment where authorized, supporting mechanical systems, and assisting with general maintenance activities.
- Follow all applicable safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, electrical safety practices, manufacturer instructions, and company policies.
- Do not perform electrical work that requires a Journeyman Electrician, Master Electrician, registered apprentice status, permit, inspection, new installation, alteration of wiring, panel work, circuit modification, or energized electrical work unless properly licensed/registered and authorized.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience in facilities maintenance, construction, or industrial environments preferred
- Strong hands-on mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read and interpret basic technical drawings, schematics, and procedures
- Willingness and ability to pursue a Journeyman Electrician license
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; willingness to travel between local job sites as needed
- Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand or walk for extended periods
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Self-directed, dependable, and detail-oriented
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting facilities operations in industrial, manufacturing, or technical environments
- Familiarity with building systems and infrastructure support
- Experience supporting construction or facility expansion projects
- Technical certification or associate’s degree in a related field
- Certifications or training in forklifts, rigging, or related equipment
- Experience working in regulated or safety-critical environments
Employment Type: Non-Exempt
The expected salary range for this role is $23.00-$34.62 an hour. Final compensation will be based on factors such as experience, skills, and internal equity, and is typically made within the midrange, rather than the upper end.
