About This Position
MGR Network Engineering
Position Highlights:
-
The primary role of the Manager of Network Engineering is to manage, lead and influence the direction of IT network architecture, engineering and operations at the Moffitt Cancer Center, including wired, wireless, physical, virtual and cloud. The Manager is responsible for allocation of projects and tasks and development of solutions for the Network Engineering and Planning. The Manager is well versed in project management, engineering and architecture, and responsibilities necessary to successfully keep Moffitt technology forward thinking. He/she will also be responsible for mentoring staff in technical and professional growth.
- Work with staff in developing and maintaining network opportunities, guidance on new technologies and platforms, and overseeing transitioning technologies to operational responsibility, while maintaining consistent communication with other teams regarding issues and improvement opportunities.
- Provides strategic direction and broadly advocates for all centralized network engineering operational technology, including private and public cloud
- Implements process and management methods to produce network engineering excellence and best cost services. Plans and manages budgets, forecasts, projects, and associated staffing requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree – field of study: Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Technology or related field.
- A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in technology operations roles providing data center/network architecture support/configuration, implementation efforts of projects and tasks, development of solutions at both the functional and technical layers for an entire organization (preferably a healthcare entity).
- PLUS three (3) years leadership experience as supervisor, team/project lead, manager or above is required (may be inclusive of other experience). Minimum of five (5) years working in healthcare IT team environment is preferred (may be inclusive of other experience).
