About This Position
Job Summary:
Perform a variety of test and inspection tasks to verify part, subassembly and finished product conformance to requirements using a variety of quality assurance tools (ranging from CMM to basic calipers, micrometers, scales etc.) to determine suitability for use in the design and construction of Experimental Light Sport Aircraft (E-LSA) and Special Light Sport Aircraft (S-LSA) at our Aurora campus.
This is an on-site full-time position. This is a hands-on role with a mix of Quality Assurance Metrology Lab and shop floor Quality Inspection duties.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Working with metrology lab staff to measure part conformance to print and other specifications. Often involved use of a wide area CMM system and other basic measurement tools.
Working with production, warehouse and supply-chain teams to inspect and verify manufactured and purchased content meets specifications.
Performs other quality assurance test activities on a project basis as needs arise to verify suitability of finishes, materials and designs for use in product.
Work with Quality Engineering team to address internal and external quality nonconformances, assist in root cause analysis, troubleshooting and problem solving.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
3 to 5 years or more of experience in the quality assurance field.
Mastery of the following skills: Print reading, understanding of dimensioning and tolerancing, and use of typical test and measurements tools (Digital Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gauges, Protractors, & Measuring Tapes)
Ability to successfully organize and lead cross-functional project teams; communicate effectively, including presentations; perform process audits; and apply FMEA and risk analysis in the evaluation of products and processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with Keyence wide area CMM preferred.
